North Carolina will have 1,091 different elections in 2022 across the 100 counties that make up the state. Seats up for election range from the Board of Commissioners who create the county budget and set the tax rate to District Attorneys who decide which criminal cases are brought to court and may often advise law enforcement to US Senators and representatives who pass federal laws. These seats all hold immense power to affect our daily lives. Voting is essential to getting representation in these powerful offices and to have our everyday needs met.

Primary Elections will be held on May 17th and General Elections will be on November 8th. During primary elections, you vote between several candidates of a political party to decide who will be the candidate voted for the election during the General elections in November. in order to vote, you must be registered, and the deadlines to register to vote are always 25 days before Election Day. You can also register to vote during one-stop registration.
